One of my biggest fears is not being able to protect my children or the ones I love from all harm. It’s the protector role in us dads.

It’s impossible for me to protect you from everything, as much as I’d like to be able to. Therefore, it’s also my job to equip you to protect yourself as well. I have to provide you with the intelligence and wherewithal to make smart decisions, even when those decisions may go contrary to what others are telling you.

I can’t protect you from every “snake in the grass” out there, but with some parenting, a little luck and some help from others out there, you will make it through this thing call childhood to become a happy, healthy and well-rounded adult.

By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.
