This post was last updated on 5/28/21. I’ve added a list of my favorite hotels in Orlando for birthday parties! This directory post is updated regularly. Some of my birthday party suggestions link to other in-depth review posts on Dadtography.com.
If you’re looking for great birthday party options in Orlando, you’ve come to the right place. This post is all about giving you as many great ideas for birthdays in Orlando that we possibly can.
I’m sure your friends and family that don’t live here say how jealous they are of all the entertainment options we have here in Orlando. That may be true, but finding a unique birthday location that won’t break the bank isn’t easy in O-town!
That’s exactly why I built this resource. I grew tired of going to the same place, or spending a fortune to try something new (that we maybe didn’t end up enjoying).
I try to update this post regularly with new birthday party ideas, but I’d love your suggestions, too! If you find a great venue for birthday parties in Orlando, please let me know!
Video: How about a birthday party at the beach?
In many ways, Orlando is one of the best cities for families. The obvious reasons include the many theme parks that we’re blessed to have in our city. There are less than obvious reasons as well, and one of those reasons are the lesser-known entertainment options that we have in town. For those of us that live here, the “other” entertainment venues directly relate to our everyday lives. As a parent, planning a birthday party can be a lot of work – that’s why I’m compiling this list of kids’ birthday party places in Orlando and will continue to update it as I come across new venues.
I am the dad of two boys, so this list is mostly geared toward birthday parties for boys. We love our birthday party celebrations and between my almost 15 year old and my 7 year old, we’ve had birthday parties all over the city, from our front yard to various local venues. I thought it was long overdue that I provide a list of the best birthday party venues in Orlando. While my list may skew toward boys just a bit for now, most of these locations are great for both boys and girls.
Air Heads Orlando – Birthday Fun (and Exercise) For All Ages
Looking for some active birthday party options in Orlando? Well then I’d like to introduce you to Air Heads indoor trampoline arena. We hosted our 13 year old’s birthday here a few years ago and absolutely loved it.
Air Heads offers most of the options common to birthday party venues – food, activities, party favors and games. The active nature of this venue is a bit different from that of a more sedentary movie birthday or similar. The kids are up, moving and having a great time and it’s great exercise for them!
A Little Something For Everyone
Rebounderz Trampoline Arena (Apopka)Rebounderz really caters to birthday parties, with five themed rooms, for both boy and girl parties. We attended a party in the Special Ops room, which was decorated Call of Duty style and included two large flat screens to play XBOX games.Similar to Airheads, Rebounderz is a trampoline arena located just outside of Orlando in the suburb of Apopka, FL. Rebounderz in Apopka has lots of activities for all ages, including multiple trampoline areas, a very popular dodgeball game, trampoline basketball, a giant foam pit (that you can jump right into), a food court, a photo booth, and multiple birthday party rooms of varying themes.

A Family Staycation Birthday Option
Holiday Inn Resort & Waterpark aka Nickelodeon Hotel
A few years ago, my family decided to do what a lot of families do for spring break (especially in Florida). We did a stay-cation at the Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando. We stayed for nearly a week and absolutely loved our experience at the “Nick” Hotel. We were somewhat surprised to hear it had been sold and was being re-branded and re-modeled as a Holiday Inn not long after our stay.
Be sure to read my full review on the Nickelodeon Hotel for more details on what they offer. Even though it’s no longer the Nickelodeon Hotel, this resort is still a great option if you’re looking for that extra special slumber party birthday option!
WonderWorks on International Drive
WonderWorks has been a staple of Orlando’s Internal Drive for many years. Most people know WonderWorks as the “upside-down” building on i-Drive. WonderWorks is a great venue for birthday parties as well, and is a departure from your average, ordinary pizza party birthday.
I really like WonderWorks because it provides both education and entertainment in a birthday party for kids.
If you haven’t tried a birthday party at WonderWorks yet, you really should give them a try!
A Smart Birthday Idea
Orlando Science Center
Okay, so it’s time to geek out just a bit with this Orlando birthday party option. STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) is all the buzz right now and what better place to have a birthday party than at a science center?
The venue at the Orlando Science Center is absolutely awesome. Birthdays at the Science Center can be a bit like hiding broccoli in spaghetti – your child can learn and have fun at the same time without even realizing it!
There are two rooms that each seat around 12 – 15 children. Of course, much of the time spent during the birthday party would be outside of these rooms, and there is definitely a lot to see here!
Fun Spot America on International Drive & Kissimmee – A Great Family Party OptionFun Spot is a smaller-scale theme park located in Orlando. Fun Spot provides a theme park or carnival atmosphere without the costs of the larger theme park venues. Fun Spot has two locations – in Orlando on Internal Drive and in Kissimmee and is a great “big idea” birthday party without the huge budget. My sons have attended birthday parties at Fun Spot and had a great time on each visit!
<h5″>Your Kids Will Sleep Well!
My family and I have been going to birthday parties at Monkey Joe’s in Orlando for well over a decade. Like many options here, Monkey Joe’s is a franchise with locations all over the country, including seven locations in Florida alone.
The great part about Monkey Joe’s is that there’s a pretty wide range of what you can do when having a party there. You can keep it super simple and just have some play time and bounce time. Or, you can purchase more formal birthday party options, including your own private room, birthday cake and visit from Monkey Joe himself!
Pricing at Monkey Joe’s
Pricing for parties varies from one location to another, so be sure to check out their website for more information. Our favorite location has always been the one in Winter Park, not far off Semoran Boulevard (Hwy 436).
Here’s some example walk-in pricing for the Winter Park location:
- Adults are free
- Walk-in admission (including open holidays) – $11.99
- 2 Years and Under – $6.99
Birthday Party Options and Pricing at Monkey Joe’s
- 2 hours in a private party suite with unlimited play time.
- Invitations for your guests
- MJ does all the set-up and clean up!
- Gift for the birthday child
- Drink for each child
- Dedicated Monkey Joe’s “Party Pro”
- Paper plates, cups, tablecloth, utensils
- Pizza and Game Cards are included in your package. Balloons, Goodie
- Bags and Game Cards are optional add-ons.
- You are allowed to bring a birthday cake with a reserved party
- No outside food or drinks permitted
- Extra Large Cheese: order by the box – $14.95 for 16 child slices
- Extra Large Pepperoni: order by the box – $14.95 for 16 child slices
The Crayola Experience at the Florida Mall
The Crayola Experience, Orlando is the newest edition to our birthday party places list. I like to think of Crayola somewhere in the middle of a science center birthday and Monkey Joe’s. The Science Center is lots of learning with some fun, Monkey Joe’s is all about fun and Crayola is right in the middle of the two – lots of hands-on engagement mixed with fun.
Like most of the other options, you don’t have to have a birthday party as an excuse to go, but groups and parties are encouraged as well. Below are the birthday party options for their Orlando location.
